Discovery Heritage in the community

Discovery Heritage in the community

Activities

It's time to take a break and to get out of being bored. It's time to travel around your Community!

We can undertake together an adventure to discover new things and places that nobody knows, but now you have in your hands the opportunity to discover them and share them to others, so that everyone can know the heritage treasure that is in your community.

Description

This activity promotes transmission through interaction between the older and younger generation. It encourages the young generation, to put into practice, knowledge they have gained from their community. They will produce various works of heritage practices they find in their own homes, at a neighbour’s house or in their community and of any visits to heritage places such as monuments, natural and cultural heritage sites.

Aim

  1. How to undertake a search

Think first of the place where you think you can find treasure (by treasure we mean heritage artifacts, sites example. Old church, water pump, old ruins etc.). Your school, your neighborhood, monuments, town, the museum or even our heritage sites.

When you have identified what you want to do, pack your bag, everything you think you will need for your new adventure. You are an explorer! Don't forget to take paper and drawing tools with you to draw the heritage finds you have discovered, so you should always be aware of everything around you.

The notes you take and most importantly, the drawings you make, are of great importance for other people to know the history and heritage that is hidden in places in your community. Help us so that everyone can get to know it.

  1. Who can discover with you

An adventure is not the same if you are not accompanied by a team. So, think of those who can help you on this discovery. Your parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, friends and teachers can be of great help in this search.

Together you can get to know your heritage and share it with everyone. Knowing and valuing your heritage means knowing where you come from, who you are and helps us to mark out a path to know where you are going.

So let us know that you know your heritage of your community and share your experience through your drawing and notes.
