Visit of Maldivian Minister for Culture at Mission Lodge
During her official visit to the Seychelles, Minister Yumna Maumoon and her delegation visited the Venn’s Town Mission Lodge, one of Seychelles most reputed heritage site.
Through our guide, Ms. Francisca Rigodon, the Minister and her delegation were able to learn about Venn’s Town historical past, where the Anglican priest provided shelter for the 37 freed slave children 20 boys and 17 girls who landed in Seychelles after the abolition of slavery in 1835.
Ms. Francisca also explained about the rich flora and fauna of Venn’s Town consisting of multiple endemic plants, small animals and insects.
The Minister was very delightful of the magnificent view of the west coast of Mahe and she expressed her appreciation for such a beautiful and peaceful place such as Mission Lodge.
